Gift cards, credit and loyalty

The money that brings people back.

Three different promises to your guests, so three separate sets of books. Collapsing them into one balance field is how attractions end up unable to say what they actually owe.

Issued gift card codes

Every code, with what is left on it.

Gift cards and store credit

Gift cards

Sold like anything else.

  • Cash value, tied to a specific product, or a membership — bought online or at the counter like any other item.
  • Real codes issued once the order is paid, with their own ledger, spendable online and at the till.
  • Recipient details can be collected before payment or on the confirmation screen, whichever suits the buyer.

Store credit

Better than a refund, for both of you.

  • Issue credit instead of money back — including in bulk when you cancel a departure — and keep the guest as well as the revenue.
  • You decide when it expires, from never to two years, and the oldest credit is always spent first.
  • You also decide where it works: online, at the till, in the guest portal, or across your other sites. Sharing between sites is a decision the issuing site makes.

Loyalty that behaves itself

Points are easy to give out and hard to keep honest. Most of the difficulty is in what happens afterwards.

  • Points survive a refund, automatically. Rather than adding points when an order lands, we work out what an order is actually worth and issue the difference. So a refund takes the right number back without anyone remembering, and a partial refund takes back exactly the right proportion.
  • Late joiners still get credit. Someone can sign up after their visit and have recent spend counted — which is why the checkout can tell a hesitating guest they already have points waiting. You set how far back it looks.
  • Rewards behave like any other discount. Spending points reduces the bill through the same pricing engine as a coupon, so tax, reporting and the invoice all come out right — instead of points being a separate kind of money nothing else understands.
  • Never spent on something already free. If a guest's membership already covers what they are booking, their points are not quietly used up on it.
  • Nobody is enrolled without being asked. Joining means you can email them, so it is always a decision the guest makes. In much of the world that is the law rather than good manners.

Store credit liabilities

What you actually owe, by site.
